Tammy Harmon

Tammy Harmon, 42, of Wayne Township, succumbed to a battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Hamilton on October 20, 1968 to parents Darrell and Diane (Allen) Yater.

As a squad captain for Wayne Township Fire Department, X-ray technician and sports "mom" to many student athletes, Tammy exemplified a life of service to and for others. Her willingness to live every day with optimism and enthusiasm is a reminder for us all to embrace each day as a gift from God, each encounter as an opportunity and each person as a friend. Tammy was a graduate of Edgewood High School.

She is a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend who is survived by her husband, Daron Harmon; daughter, Kayla Harmon; parents, Darrell & Diane Yater; brother, Darrell Yater Jr. and countless friends who remember her as a beacon of light that brought everyone together.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Mary Ellen Gaeke and Kim for their compassionate care, gentle guidance and steadfast expertise through this difficult time.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Trenton, 305 Cypress Ave., Trenton with Pastors Greg Cox and Keith L. Spencer officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the church. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
