Alfred T. Jones

Alfred T. Jones, 83, of Middletown, died Monday, September 1, 2003, at his residence. He was born in Athens, Illinois on September 3, 1919 to parents Alfred E. and Margaret T. (Eden) Jones.

Mr. Jones worked as an operating engineer for McGraw Construction for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 18 of Dayton and a member of Towne Blvd. Church of God

Alfred is survived by his wife of 63 years, Loma Mae (Caudill) Jones; one daughter, Lauralee Jones of Surfside Beach, SC; and one son, Edward D. Jones of Middletown. He leaves behind one grandchild, his beloved namesake, Taylor B. Jones, a student at Indiana University. He is also survived by two sisters, Helen Nation and Loris “Dolly” Jones, both of Middletown; and one brother, Joe Jones of Ft. Myers, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Brosie, Eric, Cleo, Robert, & Thomas Jones; and a sister, Pansy Walker.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 4, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Pastor Frank Curtis officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, prior to the service, from 12-2 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Towne Blvd. Church of God Youth Group, 3722 Towne Blvd., Franklin, OH, 45005, for their upcoming retreat.
