Alice D. Turner, 89, of Middletown, died Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Otterbein At Middletown. She was born in Barwick, Kentucky on November 5, 1921 to parents Laney and Mary (Whitaker) Davidson.
Alice attended school in Berea, Kentucky and worked at the Coolidge Ball Bearing Factory as an inspector during World War II. After the war, she worked in Jackson, Kentucky at the Unemployment Office and then went on to teach school as well as being the assistant to the Principal. She was a proud Grey Lady at Middletown Regional Hospital for many years.
Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband of 64 years, Hobert Turner; daughter, Patricia Turner of Middletown; great nephew, K. Patrick ((Alicia) Golden of Lexington, KY; and cousin, Thelma Thompson of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Edith Duff; brother, Lucien Davidson; and niece, Gale Havens.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Funeral Service will be held immediately after visitation. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 114 S. Broad Street, Middletown, Ohio 45044 OR to Odyssey Hospice (who provided hospice care), 3085 Woodman Dr., Suite 200, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
