Alice S. Woods

Alice S. Woods, 93, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Pristine Senior Living. She was born in North Chicago, Illinois on June 27, 1923 to parents Peter and Frances Pietkiewicz.

Alice was a member of Holy Family Parish. She was a very accomplished tennis player in her youth and was active with the USO during World War II. Alice volunteered with St. Vincent dePaul, Meals on Wheels, as well as several other charitable organizations. She was an avid Xavier Musketeers fan.

Mrs. Woods is survived by her son, Thomas P. Woods; brother, Arthur (Florence) Pietkiewicz; two grandchildren, Lindsay (Joey) Maiocco & Maggie (Patrick) Lysaght; and four great grandchildren, Alice, Joey, Carole & Michael.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Woods in 1981 and her parents

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father Eric Wood as celebrant. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family at North Monroe Cemetery.
