Alma Jean (Sandlin) Brown, 89, of Middletown, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at The Advanced Therapy Rehab at Chesterwood. She was born in Clay County, Kentucky on February 10, 1936, to parents, Eli and America (McDaniel) Sandlin.
Alma had worked as a respiratory therapist and phlebotomist for most of her career.
Alma loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Joyce (Mark) Curtis of West Chester, OH; son, Douglas Mayes of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Zachary Curtis, Alexis (Todd) Curtis-Merritt, Noah (Danielle) Curtis, Julie (Jonathan) Meeks, Bryan Davidson, Nick Mayes, Daniel Mayes, Sam (Molly) Mayes; numerous great grandchildren & nephews; her special friend, Hattie Tate, as well as all her friends at Mayfield Village.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald E. Brown, Sr.; daughter, Dianne Mayes; son, Donald E. Brown, Jr.; grandson, Douglas Mayes, Jr.; granddaughter, Emily Brown Storey; parents; sister, Velma Sapp; and brothers, Floyd (Gracie) Sandlin, John Sandlin, Eli Sandlin, Jr. & Larry Sandlin.
Visitation will be will be Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd, (at Bonita Dr), Middletown. Funeral Service immediately following at 11:00am at the funeral home, with Eulogy given by Alexis Curtis-Merritt. Interment will be at Grace Memorial Gardens.
