Alma Rae (Deaton) Weaver left the bonds of earth to see the face of God on Wednesday February 16, 2011.She was 91. She joined Rev. Forest (Tex, Preacher) Weaver, her husband of 55 years, infant son John Theodore, and brothers John T. Deaton and Frances Raleigh, who preceded her.
Alma was born May 6, 1919 in Perry County, Kentucky to Alfred Lonnie and Ida Mae Deaton. Her first job was at the Liberty Restaurant in Middletown, Ohio. She was also employed at Montgomery Ward and Elder Beerman until she chose to become a special nanny to her great nephew. This led to her joyful years as nanny to her granddaughter, Ashleigh.
Alma worked with her husband in the jail and nursing home ministries of the Stratford Heights Church of God for more than 25 years.
She is survived by her son Jonathan Weaver, grandchildren Ashleigh Weaver, April (Joe) Lonicker, Kara Holaday and great grandchildren Taylor and Joey Lonicker and Alyssah Holaday.
Survivors also include a loving sister and brother, Ada Amburgey and J.B. (Juanita) Deaton; nephews
Jay Hatch of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Russell and Chris (Fran) Amburgey and great nieces Kristen and Kathryn Amburgey and great nephew, Kurt Amburgey and many more loved ones including special friend, Cynthia Robinson.
Visitation is from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Stratford Heights Church of God, 4419 Nelson Rd. Middletown, with the funeral immediately following. The Reverends Ray Phillips and Ron Smith will be officiating. Entombment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stratford Heights Church of God Building Fund.
