Andrew M. “Pap” Smith, 94, of Fairfield Township, died Monday, January 24, 2005, at Ft. Hamilton Hospital Hospice. He was born in Manchester, Kentucky on July 18, 1910 to parents William and Sally (Asher) Smith.
Mr. Smith was a steel worker for Armco Steel Corporation.
Mr. Smith is survived by five daughters, Alpha (Clarence) Frazier of Trenton, Alma (Arnold) Hayes of Conyers, GA, Sally (Chester) Walters of Conyers, GA, Janet (Don) Wells of Burnside, KY, and Cora Lee (Roger) Gang of Tampa, FL; three sons, Andrew Smith of Middletown, John Wayne (Jessie) Smith of Conyers, GA, and Michael Ray (Penny) Smith of McDonough, GA;18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd (Dorcas) Smith of Middletown and Alfonso (Arcie) Smith of Trenton; and a special sister-in-law, Ellen Lynch.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Prudie Smith in 2003; his parents; brothers Forester & Anderson Smith; and a sister, Cora Smallwood.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 2:45 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery Chapel in Hamilton. Visitation will be Wednesday, prior to the service, from 1-2 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown. Entombment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flower the family asks that memorial donations be made to VITAS Hospice Charitable Fund, 11500 N. Lake Dr., Suite 400, Cincinnati, OH 45249.
