Anita Kay Swartzbaugh, 62, of Middletown, Ohio, died on December 24, 2003, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 22, 1941 to parents Ellis D. and Lucille (Landis) Brubaker.
Anita is survived by her mother, Lucille Brubaker; her brother Steve (Susan) Brubaker; her sisters, BJ (Tim) Blocker and Lora Jean Estes; her six children, Mike (Sherry) Swartzbaugh, Jeff Swartzbaugh, Tom (Amy) Swartzbaugh, Pam (Ambers) Brown, David (Maria) Swartzbaugh, and Robert Swartzbaugh; as well as her nine grandchildren, Lauren and Kara Swartzbaugh, Ethan and Jordan Brown, Timmy and Jamie Swartzbaugh, Ryan, Kyle, and Skyler Swartzbaugh.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Brubaker.
Anita grew up in New Carlisle, Ohio. She attained a Master’s Degree in Education and an Associates Degree in Nursing. For 10 years, she taught at Middletown’s John XXIII Elementary School, and most recently was employed as a registered nurse at Miami Valley Hospital. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church for many years.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church with Reverend Dr. David E. Moreland officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be at Twin Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Suite 1209, 654 Madison Ave., New York, New York, 10021.
