Ann Lehman

Ann R. Lehman, 88, of Middletown, died Friday, August 24, 2012, at Otterbein at Middletown. She was born in Middletown on September 29, 1923 to parents Emrick and Mary (Osust) Orth.

Ann graduated from St. John's and from Middletown High School Class of 1942 and from Good Samaritan School of Nursing Class of 1945. She worked for several years at Middletown Hospital and in the office of Dr. Walton Williams, EENT and surgeon, before leaving to raise her family. In 1970, she returned to work at the office of Dr. Omer C. Hurlburt II for 18 years, until retiring at age 65. She was happy to spend the early years of her retirement traveling with her beloved husband, Don, to Hawaii, California, Washington, Vancouver, and to visit her four children on the East coast. She was a life-long member of Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, and was active in Holy Family Women's Group, Young at Heart, and the Hospitality Committee. Devoted to her family and friends, she spent her life in the service of others.

Mrs. Lehman is survived by her children, Michael (Elise) Lehman of Savannah, GA, Constance (David) Weinstein of Philadelphia, PA, Thomas (Marta) Lehman of Salem, MA and Mark (Maureen) Lehman of Charleston, SC; brother, Joseph (Bebe) Orth; sister, Phyllis (John) Downey; sisters-in-law, Carole Orth and Shirley Orth; five grandsons; four granddaughters; one great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 1998; parents; aunt, Catherine Smith; sisters, Mary (Thomas) LaRock and Anastasia Orth; and brothers, Henry (Josephine) Orth, John Orth and Paul Orth.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Monsignor Paul Metzger as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
