Anna Kathryn Pombles Bors, 79, of Monroe, passed away Friday, November 7, 2008, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in Camden, Ohio on August 27, 1929 to parents Thomas Edward and Ada (Gilbert) Pombles. She and her husband had lived in Palm Coast, Florida for 22 years.
Katie was a graduate of Gratis High School. While living in Florida, she was the Chaplain for VFW Post 8696, which she served for 5 years until she became ill. She also served with the VFW Auxiliary in the color guard for military funerals and worked at the VA Hospital distributing gifts for the holidays.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Rudy Bors; son, John Thomas (Pam) Bors; sister, Mary Louise (G.P.) Honchul; and many nieces, nephews & friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, David Thomas Pombles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Monsignor Paul Metzger as celebrant. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
