Annelies (Deimer) von Busch, 96, died peacefully on January 15, 2017, after having lived a fulfilled life. She was born on September 26, 1920 in Germany and emigrated to the USA in 1954, becoming a US citizen in 1962. She lived in Middletown in the home she and her husband Axel built.
She was active in the community as a volunteer at the Middletown Hospital and in Gourmet Club and Homemaker's in Middletown, and the German-American Society in Hamilton. Most recently she participated in the Christian Women's Society. She was an avid amateur artist, working in watercolor, pastel, and oil. She went to the Middletown Art Center and enjoyed enameling. She believed in the benefits of being physically fit, and made it a habit to swim at the Y every weekday.
Mrs. von Busch is survived by her daughters, Marianne (Meyer-Ricks) residing in Germany, and Dorothea residing in Minnesota; granddaughter, Birgit Spreitzer-Ricks and great granddaughters, Leonie, Amelie & Marisol also residing in Germany; as well as many cousins and extended family in Germany.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Axel von Busch in 2009 and her parents, Leopold & Anna Deimer.
Prayer Service will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Woodside Cemetery Chapel, 1401 Woodside Blvd., Middletown with Deacon John Lyons officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Middletown Area YMCA, 1020 Manchester Ave., Middletown, Ohio 45042.
