Anthony Agoston, 85, of Middletown, died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Ft. Hamilton Hospital Hospice. He was born in Middletown, on July 23, 1918 to Alexander and Rozalia Agoston.
Mr. Agoston worked as a machinist for Black Clawson for 43 years, retiring in 1985. He served his country in the United States Army as a medic sergeant during World War II and participated in the Battle of the Buldge. He and Fay were married on January 24, 1953. He was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. John´s Church, the Knights of St. John´s Lodge, and the American Legion Post 218. He was also a member of the Middletown Garden Club, the Cincinnati Horticulture Club, and the American Holly Society-Three Rivers Chapter.
Anthony is survived by his wife Fay (Couchman) Agoston; one daughter, Jana (Stephen) Cavanaugh of Middletown; two sons, Anthony R. (Lisa) Agoston, and Tom (Peggy) Agoston, both of Liberty Township; nine grandchildren, Amy, Jason, Leslie, Kristine, & Kayla Agoston, Shannon (Bret) Seipel, Shawna, Sarah, & Stephen Cavanaugh; and three great grandchildren Alexis Cavanaugh, Kennedy & Karys Seipel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Rozalia Agoston, and his four brothers, Andrew, Louis, Gazel, & James Agoston.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Vitas Hospice Staff at Ft. Hamilton Hospital, especially Pam Allen and Michael Barkley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 14, 2004 from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
