Anthony J. Stugmyer, 80, of Middletown, died Monday, April 16, 2007, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Middletown, on January 29, 1927 to Joseph and Anna (Stepanik) Stugmyer. Tony was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict, and member of the D.A.V. He was also a member of Holy Family Parish. He worked as a welder for United Welding, owned Stug’s Restaurant, and retired from Middletown Welding & Fabricating in 1991. Mr. Stugmyer is survived by his wife, Catherine M. (Oshust) Stugmyer; one daughter, Cathy A. (Gregg) Wood of Fairfield; one son, Tom A. (Kathy) Stugmyer of Wadsworth; two grandchildren, Steven Stugmyer and Katie Stugmyer; nephews, John (Janie) Stugmyer, Joseph (Regina) Stugmyer, both of Middletown, and James (Cindy) Stugmyer of Trenton. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Andrew Stugmyer and John Stugmyer; and sisters, Anna Royse, Rose Stugmyer, and Mary Stugmyer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to Abilities First Foundation, Inc., 4710 Timber Trail Dr., Middletown, OH 45044.
