Arnold C. Sponsel

Arnold C. Sponsel, 80, of Middletown, died Sunday, January 22, 2012, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in Owingsville, Kentucky on September 8, 1931 to parents Powell and Hazel (McNabb) Sponsel.

Arnold worked in maintenance at E.G. & G. Mound Applied Technologies for 12 years, retiring in 1995. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Sponsel is survived by his five children, Stephen Sponsel, Sharon Barker, Lonna Blosser, Wendy Sponsel & Tim (Amy) Sponsel; brother, Robert Sponsel; sisters, Janice Bryant, Wanda Snyder, Linda Snelling, Patricia (Tom) Hickman & Saundra Bardsley; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Arnold Dale Sponsel in 2004; parents; and brother, Charles Sponsel.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Terry Rolen. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
