Arthur C. “Art” Songer, 46, of Franklin, died Friday, January 12, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Modesto, California on December 13, 1960 to parents Carl J. and Mary Nadine (Borges) Songer.
Art worked as a forklift operator for Packaging Corp of America in Fairfield for 15 years. He was a member of the Franklin Eagles Aerie #2309, the VFW Post 7596, was senior vice president of the Sons of Veterans, and a member of Franklin AmVet Post #120.
Mr. Songer is survived by his life partner, Margie Mowery; his parents, Carl J. & Mary Nadine Songer; brother, Danny (Kim) Songer; two sisters, Teresa (Mike) Webb and Cindy (Paul) Howard; step sons, Tony Poplin and Derek Bush; 2 nieces; and 2 nephews.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown with Major Doug Hart officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
