Arthur Crozier Jones, 90, of Middletown, died Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in Middletown on March 5, 1927 to parents Edward W. and Frances (Crozier) Jones.
Art was a graduate of Denison University and worked as a chemist for NCR for over 20 years. During his career he helped invent scratch-n-scent technology, body temperature color change technology that was incorporated into moonstones, and time-released capsule technology. He served his country in the United States Army. Art loved to travel, visiting many places around the world, was an avid chess player and loved opera, particularly Richard Wagner. He had such a kind heart, always showing unconditional love to his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Jones is survived by his daughter, Linda C. Jones; sister, Carol (Ted) Forsyth; and grandchildren, Kim Herold, Aaron Herold, Adam Herold, Sam Ferguson & Audrey Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joy Jones; and daughters, Susan D. Jones Ferguson Mize & Deborah A. Jones.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend K. Scott Robertson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
