Artie Jean Hampton

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Artie Jean Truesdell Hampton, 75, of Middletown, Ohio. She left Bethesda Hospital where she was a patient for four days, to make her Heavenly journey on June 12, 2004. She was born on March 13, 1929 in Breathitt County, Kentucky, the daughter of Jesse William and Kittie Catherine (Adams) Truesdell.

Artie had a passion for her family and friends. Throughout her life, she made many close and dear friends who knew her as a selfless and caring person. Her church family consisted of members from the Red Lion United Methodist Church. Artie loved golfing, playing bridge, gardening, and traveling with friends.

Mrs. Hampton is survived by one daughter, Sharon Hampton Augsberger, and her husband Richard, of Middletown; one granddaughter, Michaela Augsberger Eversole, and her husband Shane, of Westerville; two sisters, Betty Terry of Harveysburg, and Beatrice Makin of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Hampton in 1986; her son, Robert L. Hampton in 1995; five sisters, Julia Truesdell Craft, Gladys Truesdell Campbell, Thelma Truesdell Brown, Maurine Truesdell O’Banion, and Fleda Truesdell Back; and four brothers, Clyde Truesdell, Roy Truesdell, Charles Truesdell and Gordon Truesdell.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 18, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Dennis Bunnell officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, those who so desire, may contribute to Red Lion United Methodist Church, 3466 N. State Route 741, Franklin, Ohio 45005.
