Barbara Anne Mearns

Barbara Anne Mearns, 94, of Monroe, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey on January 25, 1915 to parents John Gilbert and Nellie (Davidson) Mearns.

Barbara graduated with a BA from Oberlin and an MS in Library Science from Western Reserve. She was the head Librarian at Clifton New Jersey Public Library.

Ms. Mearns is survived by her niece and nephews, Anne Stremanos, John Mearns and Robert Mearns; 2 grand nieces, 1 grand nephew, 1 great grand niece, 2 great grand nephews, and 1 great-great grand nephew.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Mearns Jr.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe with Reverend Pat Warren officiating. Interment will be in New Jersey.
