Bernard J. Simms

Bernard J. Simms, 68, of Franklin Township, died Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at Kettering Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hinton, West Virginia on July 18, 1935 to parents William and Maude (Spangler) Simms.

Bernard worked for E.G. & G. Mound as a HVAC Mechanic for 26 years, retiring in 1993. He is a veteran of both the United States Navy and Army.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Marsha A. (Pate) Simms of Franklin Township, OH;one daughter, Helen Ballinger of Hamilton, OH; three sons, Christopher (Susan) Ballinger of Utica, NY, Bernard J. Simms, Jr. of Michigan, and Brian Simms of Middletown, OH; one sister, Ruby Lowry of Beckley, WV; and a granddaughter, Cameo Ballinger of Utica, NY.

Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 5, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Bruce Cornett officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, prior to the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
