Bernard J. "Pete" Frye, 91, of Franklin, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on November 14, 1924 to parents William and Elizabeth (Ruder) Frye.
Pete had worked as a mechanic for Jefferson Smurfit for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 218.
Mr. Frye is survived by his stepdaughters, Vickie (Dennis) Burleson & Kim (Don) Zabel; stepson, Terry (Sue) Cofer; brother, Ron (Laura) Frye; nine grandchildren, Rob, Kami, Kelsi, Josh, Jeremy, Joey, Tony, Chris & Mindy; eight great grandchildren, Mason, Dominick, Jordan, Addison, Tabby, Ciera, Aaron & Terry; and nephews, Benny Jo (Judy) Frye & Ron Frye Jr..
He was preceded in death by his wife, Armeda "Pat" (Reedy) Frye in 1994; parents; sisters, Dorothy Saunders & Alvina McQuitty; and brother, Leroy Frye.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Joseph Head officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
