Bertha M. Anderson, 99, of Monroe, died Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Westminster Thurber Health Care Center in Columbus. She was born in Columbus on January 4, 1913 to parents Charlotte B. (Fleming) and Benjamine C. Moore.
Bertha worked as the office manager of Dr. Anderson's medical practice for 33 years. She was a member of Monroe Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder, church organist, sang in the choir and was leader of Ruth's Circle. She was also a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, Monroe Current Events Club, Monroe Historical Society, Monroe Bridge Club, charter member of Questers Lemon Hill Chapter, and member & past president of the Ramblers Club.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by her sons, James M. Anderson II, Rick M. Anderson & David K. Anderson; daughter, Ellen Anderson Smith; grandchildren, Alissa Anderson Marisch, Megan Fleming Moyer, Michele Fleming Parker, Andrew A. Smith, Matthew A. (Jenah) Smith & Ryan W. Smith; great grandchildren, Levi Moyer & Caleb Parker; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Warnock.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Dr. James M. Anderson in 2005; son, Michael C. Fleming in 2006; parents; and brothers, Benjamine Moore & Sylvester J. Moore.
Memorial service will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 10:00 am at Monroe Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Elm Street, Monroe with Reverend Patrick Warren officiating.
