Betty Arlene Dearth, 72, of Middletown, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Culpeper Health & Rehabilitation Center, Culpeper, VA. She was born in Middletown on September 29, 1939 to parents Claude and Estella Mae (Borders) Snelling.
Betty worked at Square D and retired from Armco Steel in 1989. Betty's sense of humor, laughter and companionship were best served with a pot of coffee at her dining room table. "MaBetty" will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Dearth is survived by her son, LCDR Gary Tissandier USN Ret. & his wife, Kari; grandchildren, Sgt. Nicholas Tissandier USMC & his wife, Maryellen, ET2 Nathan Tissandier USN and Taylor Marie Tissandier; great grandson, Carson James Tissandier; brothers, Bill (Jean), Gene (Reed), Mike (Shirley), Larry (Kathy) & Jack Snelling; and sisters, Kathy (John) James & Cheryl Snelling.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin; parents; brothers, Claude Jr., Don, John, Paul, Tom & Rick Snelling; and sister, Eloise Snelling.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Wes Souders officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
