Betty B. Earley

Betty B. (Tracy) Earley, 94, of West Milton, a former 50 year resident of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009. She was born in Newark, Ohio on June 6, 1915 to parents William Guy and Beatrice Irene (Hoodlett) Tracy.

Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Middletown, where she taught the Sunday School preschool class for 30 years and was active in many groups in the church.

Betty had lived in Newark, Akron, St. Louisville, Columbus, Cleveland, Middletown and most recently at the home of her daughter, Nancy (Phil) Shafer in West Milton. In addition to her daughter, she is also survived by her son, John A. (Mary) Earley and daughters, Anne Bobincheck and Vicki Evans; granddaughter and primary caregiver, Wendy (Doug) Wilson; granddaughter and caregiver, Jodie (Steve) Hineman; as well as fifteen other grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John E. Earley (1999); son, Stephen R. Earley (2004); grandson, Arthur Bobincheck (1979); her parents; sister, Alice V. Tracy Jacobs (2008); brother, William Porter Tracy (1971); and two sons-in-law, John Bobincheck and Don Evans.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Ave., Middletown with Reverend L. Timothy Doty officiating. Gathering of family & friends will be prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the church. Scattering of cremains at the First Presbyterian Scattering Gardens will be held at a later date.
