Betty G. Melampy

Betty G. Melampy, 85, of Middletown, died Monday, September 29, 2008, at Liberty Of Middletown. She was born in Middletown on June 21, 1923 to parents Goebel and Mattie (Carpenter) Salyer.

Betty worked as an executive secretary for Gardner Board and Carton, retiring in 1955. She was a member of Wildwood Country Club for 40 years and Browns Run Country Club for 32 years. She was an avid golfer, wining many tournaments, and also enjoyed bowling. Betty was a loving mother and had a passion for her family, friends, and pets.

Mrs. Melampy is survived by her husband, Raymond E. Melampy; son, Gary (Mona) Melampy; daughter, Sharon (Rob) Hall; sister-in-law, Florence Clendenin; and grandchildren, Peter Melampy and Shannon Melampy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson, Scott Matthew Hall.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
