Betty L. Perry, 82, of Middletown, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Garden Manor Retirement Village. She was born in Middletown on May 31, 1920 to parents Walter and Madge (Fields) Smith.
Mrs. Perry was a graduate of Miami University and taught second grade at Garfield and Jefferson Elementary Schools. She was a founding member of the Town & Country Garden Club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for over 67 years, many of which she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Guided Study Club, an elder and deacon, and was active in the Women's Association. She served as clerk for Session and served on Presbytery at leadership levels.
Betty is survived by her husband D. Cameron Perry of Middletown; two sons Alan (Erin) Perry of Superior, Colorado and Craig (Sandra) Perry of Marietta, Georgia; and five grandchildren, Cameron and Lauren Perry of Superior, Colorado and Alice, Katie, and John Perry of Marietta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by a son Bruce Perry on July 15, 1996; a daughter, Joyce Perry on February 14, 1954; her parents; and two brothers Walter and Clair Smith.
Funeral service will be Friday, January 31, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Tom Ramsey officiating. Visitation will be Friday, prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
