Betty Sue Scorti, 70, of Middletown, died Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on January 27, 1943 to parents William and Rissie (Adams) Wilson.
Betty was most passionate in life about her family and grandkids. She traveled the world with friends and family, was an amazing cook, and loved to spend her free time reading and enjoying her gardens at home and at the lake, but mostly spending time enjoying her grandchildren and kids. Her friendships and compassion for others touched many lives inside and outside of Middletown and was demonstrated in her contribution to many organizations within Middletown, as she was a past president of both the Middletown Garden Club and AIM (Arts in Middletown). Betty and and her husband Mike recently celebrated their 48th marriage anniversary and just completed a trip abroad with their close friends. Her first love was spending time at her house at Lake Gage, reading and enoying time with family and friends on weekends. One of her favorite quotes was, "You may feel as though you are only one person in this world, but to one person, you may be their whole world." To her family, she was their whole world.
Mrs. Scorti is survived by her husband, Michael J. Scorti; son, Andrew (Leslie) Scorti and daughter, Laine (Matt) Barresi and her grandchildren, Mia Scorti and Molly and Ryan Barresi.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Ave., Middletown with Reverend L. Timothy Doty and Fr. John Civille officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
Memorial donations may be made to the Betty Sue Scorti Fund at the Middletown Community Foundation, 300 N. Main St., Suite 300, Middletown, OH 45042-OR- Middletown Fine Arts Center, 130 N. Verity Parkway, Middletown, OH 45042.
