Albert R. "Bob" Petrocy, 89, of Middletown, died Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born in Middletown on April 18, 1925 to parents John and Margaret (Gall) Petrocy.
Bob graduated from TriState College in 1950 and went on to work as a civil engineer for the Ohio Department of Transportation for 30 years. After retirement he was a consultant with the Butler County Engineer's Office for another 30 years. Bob served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was captured during the Battle of the Bulge and held as a POW.
Mr. Petrocy is survived by his wife, Bette Hope (Hampton) Petrocy; son, Chris (Sara) Petrocy; sisters, Betty (Joe) Mulholland & Becky (Charlie) Flavin; granddaughters, Amy & Emily; and numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe Petrocy; and sister, Margaret Dalton.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Father Ed Pratt officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 1:00 pm. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 218, 116 South Main St., Middletown, Ohio 45044.
