Cornett, Brown
Brown Cornett, 83, of Madison Township, OH, died Saturday, October 31, 2009. He was born in Morris Fork, Kentucky, on February 16, 1926 to parents Floyd and Dora (Turner) Cornett.
Brown served his country in the United States Army and was highly decorated, including a Purple Heart. He also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Cornett retired from ODOT after 33 years of service. Brown is a longtime resident of Madison Township. He attended Grace Baptist Church and was a very active member of the Republican Party. He was a member of American Legion Post 218, Disabled American Veterans Chapter #131, he was a member of the Scottish Rite Masons, Lodge 257, former precinct committeeman in the Republican Party and belongs to Republican Central Committee and Butler County Republican Club.
Mr. Cornett is survived by his wife, Mona Cornett; Daughters, Rhonda (Steve) Posey, Linda Kennedy Daley; Brother, Sam (Mildred) Cornett; Sisters, Alene (Jerry) Loveless, Polly Gay and special nieces, Debra Burke, Eva Nielsen and Darlene Back; special family friend, Bill And Jenny Rigsby; grandchildren: Marc (Ely) Kennedy, Teagan (Brian) Benson, Mason (Bobbi) Kennedy, Erin (Brian) Silva and Zack Posey; great grandchildren, Paige, Gage, Aiden, Noah, Neil, Dylan, Wyatt and Ethan.
Brown was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lawrence Cornett; sisters, Haney Riley, Flossie Batze and Cleda Miller and son-in-law Bill Daley.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Grace Memorial Garden with military honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
