Bud Van Buskirk

Bud Van Buskirk, 91, of Middletown, Ohio, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Willow Knoll Retirement Community. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on September 3, 1911 to parents Russell and Clara (Yeager) Van Buskirk.

Bud was very interested in all athletics, coaching PeeWee Football and teaching wrestling at the YMCA for many years. At one time, he was very active with Big Brothers. He was a member of Lincoln Lodge #693 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati and Butler County Scottish Rite Club, Middletown Sportsman´s Club, and B.P.O.E. #257, having earned the Elk of the Year Award in 1983.

Bud is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Stubbs) Van Buskirk of Middletown;one son, Dr. Ronald (Karen) Van Buskirk of Mt. Pleasant, TX; one sister: Beryl (Dr. Harry) Conrad of San Diego, CA; sister-in-law, Gladys Van Buskirk of Monroe, OH; grandchildren, Anna Van Buskirk of Mt. Pleasant, TX, and Benjamin Van Buskirk of Houston, TX; step grandchildren, Terry & Gary Richardson of Mt. Pleasant, TX; nieces, Peggy Van Buskirk of Cleveland, OH, Rosemary Globokar of Phoenix, AZ, Nancy Hartfelder of New Lebanon, OH, and Christel (Jeffery) Wallin of San Diego, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Glen Van Buskirk and a sister, Christel Van Buskirk.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 12, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Johnny Schmitt officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 pm at the funeral home, with Lincoln Lodge #693 Masonic Services at 4:00 pm and Middletown Elks Lodge #257 services at 4:30 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
