Buell J. Reed, 82, of Monroe, died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Hawthorn Glen Senior Living Campus. He was born in Pike County, Ohio on February 21, 1924 to parents Joseph and Virginia (Blanton) Reed.
Mr. Reed served his country as a medic in the United States Army during World War II, where he served overseas in France. He worked on the assembly line for General Motors- Delco, retiring in 1979. He was an avid Ohio State fan and was a supporter of the Monroe Hornets.
Buell is survived by his wife, Ada P. (Blair) Reed; a son, Keith (Nola) Reed of Middletown; two brothers, Frank (Marty) Reed of Middletown and Joe Reed of Harrisburg, KY; five granddaughters, Heather (Tim) Malbon, Holly Reed, Lisa Walker, Leslie Price, and Amy Price; great grandsons, Tristan Walker, Chamois Reed, and Tanner Malbon; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Leon Price; his parents; brothers, Harkless Reed and John Reed; and sisters, Marybell Gullett and Martha Helton.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Reverend James Kinser officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery.
