C. Richard Osborne

C. Richard "Dick" Osborne, 80, of Germantown, died Thursday, January 5, 2012, at home. He was born in Middletown on November 14, 1931 to parents Charles L. and Della (Minnix) Osborne.

Dick worked in Hot Strip Maintenance at Armco Steel for 46 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Franklin First United Methodist Church, past chairman of Franklin First United Methodist Church Board of Trustees, played in hand bell choir and sang in chancel choir at church. Was a member of Lincoln Lodge #693 F. & A.M., Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, former member of Antioch Shrine where he rode with the mounted patrol, a Kentucky Colonel, past President of Warren County Beekeepers Assoc. past president and life member of Ohio State Beekeepers Assoc. member of Southwestern Ohio Beekeepers Assoc. and was very active organizing the Bee School. He was a member of Otterbein Men's Chorus, formerly sang with the men's Quartet at Otterbein, and sang with the Renaissance Chorus, was a member of Friends of Camp Miami Board and Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center.

Mr. Osborne is survived by his wife, Nancy E. (Sohn) Osborne; sons, David Osborne, Michael (Jamie) Osborne, daughters, Melodie (Rusty) Rickard, Rebecca (Michael) Jacobs, Deanna (Brian) Bush, grandchildren, Adam and Zachary Osborne, Craig (Jessica) Branan, Eric Branan, Chelsi and Kaitlyn McIntosh, Cameron, Claire and Abigail Bush; and great grandchild, Briley Branan, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cheryl Osborne and his parents.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 9, 2012 at 1:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Rev. Bryan Lauzau officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm with Masonic Services conducted by Lincoln Lodge F & AM at 4:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
