C. Robert Jackson

C. Robert Jackson, 80, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2010. . C. Robert was born on April 2, 1929, in Clairton, PA to Gaylord C. and Alyce B. Jackson. He was raised in Baden, PA and was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. C.Robert received his bachelor's degree from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA as well as his Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

In 1954, he married the love of his life, Pauline Francis Derek of Latrobe, PA. C. Robert and Pauline moved initially to Baden, PA and then to Economy Borough, PA where they lived with their 6 children until moving to Middletown, OH in 1977. C.Robert held many management positions throughout his 35 year career with Armco, Inc. (now AK Steel) which began in 1955 at the Ambridge Works in Ambridge, PA. In 1977, he was offered a promotion transfer and moved his family to Middletown, Ohio where he worked until his retirement in 1990. His career also included many years as a night school instructor at Robert Morris University as well as Miami University.

He also served his community by serving on the Ambridge Area school board for 11 years. He was also a very active booster for Boy Scouts of America, Pop Warner Football, and Youth Baseball. Recently he was active in the local Knights of Columbus Chapter in Middletown. His passions included education and he made sure each of his 6 children and his wife obtained college degrees. He was a devout Catholic his entire life.

C. Robert is survived by Pauline, his wife of 55 years and their 5 children: Patrick Jackson (Deborah), Paula Jackson, Diane Helm (Gary), Michael Jackson, and Gary Jackson (Annie), and 6 grandchildren: Jillian, Brittany, Cate, Cori, Jack, Drew, and Drew's little brother who will arrive in June. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia (1998), son Douglas (2004), and brother Richard (2005).
His family and community will truly miss C. Robert. His spirit will remain in all our hearts- we will truly miss him.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:30 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
