Carl J. Lubberger

Carl J. Lubberger, 90, of Middletown, died Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Lemon Township on June 5, 1924 to parents Carl and Mary (Welsh) Lubberger.

Carl worked as a machinist for Armco Steel Corp for over 50 years. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, was a member of American Legion Post 218, and participated in the Honor Flight in 2011. He became a Kentucky Colonel in 1996. Carl was a very active member of Jefferson Lodge F. & A.M. #90, the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, Grand Council of Ohio Royal & Select Masons and Commandery. He was a 55 year member of Prosser Chapter #367 Order of Eastern Star where he served as Worthy Patron four times and served two terms as a Grand Page to the Grand Secretary of Ohio. He served on the advisory board for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls Middletown Assembly #68 for 20 years.

Mr. Lubberger is survived by his wife, Shirley (Boice) Lubberger; daughter, Sharyn Bolich and granddaughters, Lori Nelson & Susan Bolich Giddens.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Kenneth Fey officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm with Masonic services being held at 11:30 am. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
