Carol J. Bishop, 87, of Franklin Township, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Bickford of Middletown. She was born in Cincinnati on September 6, 1936 to parents, William and Ruth (Rainwater) Irving.
Carol had worked as a personnel manager for Sears. For many years she was a friendly face at the information desk at Middletown Hospital, then Atrium Medical Center. Carol was a member of Holy Family Parish, where she helped on the bereavement committee and was active with the widow's group. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bocce ball, bowling, gardening, taking care of her yard, cooking and baking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially time spent with her grandkids.
Carol is survived by her sons, Tim P. (Betty) Bishop & Steve (Diana) Bishop; daughters, Deborah (Danny) Burke & Diane "Dee Dee" (Jared) Green; brothers, Hal Irving & Don Irving; brother-in-law, Fred (Anne) Bishop; sisters-in-law, Ellen Krause & Pat Bishop; six grandchildren, Britney (Randy) Shannon, Michael Bishop, Kristina Izor, Kimberly Izor, Connor Green & Rylee Green; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews and numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terrance "Terry" Bishop; brothers, Hank (Marge) Irving & Bill (Martha) Irving; sister, Ruth (Joe) Jones; parents-in-law, Bill & Mary Bishop; brothers-in-law, Jim Bishop, Dennis Krause & Tom (Eleanor) Bishop; and a special aunt, Irene Dineen.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Prayer Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Father John Civille officiating. Interment will be at Woodhill Cemetery.
