Cecilia L. Brandenburg

Cecilia L. Brandenburg, 84, of Middletown, died Monday, February 20, 2012, at home. She was born in Middletown on December 14, 1927 to parents John and Mary (Stiglitz) Lucas.

Cecilia was a social worker for more than 20 years. She worked with United Way of Middletown Family Services and then as a case worker for Hope House. She earned a degree in Lay Pastoral Ministry from the Athenaeum of Ohio, the graduate school of theology sponsored by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

Mrs. Brandenburg is survived by her sons, David Brandenburg & Robert Brandenburg; daughters, Claudia (Dean) Kotchka, Susan E. Nicholson & Tracy A. (Burak Kazaz) Brandenburg; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Brandenburg; parents; brother, Robert Lucas; and sister, Cornelia Wooldridge.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Holy Name Catholic Church, 222 Hamilton Ave., Trenton with Father Thomas H. McCarthy as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:30 - 11:30 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Family & friends will gather at the Woodside Community Room following the interment.
