Charlene Caudill Profitt

February 16, 1934 — October 7, 2024

Middletown, Ohio

Charlene Caudill Profitt, 90, of Middletown, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Momentous Health at Franklin. She was born in Middletown on February 16, 1934, to parents, Charles and Olive (Baisden) Brandenburg.

Charlene graduated from Monroe High School in 1953. Following graduation she started work as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell, retiring in 1974 after 21 years with the company. Charlene lived a very long and fulfilled life in her 90 years on earth. Her favorite things in life were her grandsons and spending time with family and friends. Throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's she was the party queen. She loved planning get togethers, planning her high school reunions, but most of all - poker parties. She would cook for hours to prepare for these gatherings. She enjoyed every minute. She also had a green thumb and a knack for flowers. She loved planting geraniums in the hand-made flower boxes her husband made for her every summer. Later, when she was in her 70's, she found a love for all things in the country/holler in Kentucky. It was very common to see her cruising around town on her 4 wheeler, going to the bank or grocery. She loved an adventure and loved making people laugh. She had some one-liners and had some true comic moments. Charlene was very sassy and always had her eye open for the next cutest "hunk" to come along. When she was 82 years old and was undergoing heart surgery, she politely asked the surgeon "If I live, can we go to Motel 6 afterwards?" Without missing a beat, the doctor replied "Miss Charlene, I'll take you somewhere even classier, perhaps Holiday Inn." She roared with laughter. She was truly a one of a kind character! She's greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Charlene is survived by her daughters, Glynis (Dave) Taulbee & Susan (Bob Morin) Caudill; grandchildren, Jonathon (Emily) Taulbee, Adam Taulbee & Noah Caudill; brothers, Gerald (Marlene) Brandenburg & Darrell (Marisu) Brandenburg; nieces & nephews, Tracy Brandenburg, Gian (Yvonne) Frongia, Lori (Brad) Barnett, Gina Courtney, Derek (Melissa) Brandenburg, Kim (Stephen) Younge, Shari (Jay Johnson) Brandenburg, Chad (Yoshino) Brandenburg, David Brandenburg, Robert Brandenburg, Susan Tinsley & Claudia Kotchka; and numerous great-nieces & great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Glen C. Caudill; parents; sister, Arnita Frongia; brother, Richard Brandenburg; and niece, Holly Brandenburg.
