Charles F. Roberts, 61, of Royal Oak, Maryland, died on November 1, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Maryland. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on October 21, 1941 to parents Robert F. and Elinor (Pippert) Roberts.
Educated at Middletown area schools, and later at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, he began his career with Whittace Paper Co., which later became Nationwide Paper Corp. in Baltimore. In 1973 he relocated to Allentown, PA, where he was division manager and V.P. of Garrett Buchanan paper Co. In 1985 he returned to Maryland and settled in Easton, ending his career as president of the Maryland division of Gould Paper Corp.of New York.
He was a 32nd degree mason, a member of Greenleaf Lodge of Allentown, PA and Boumi Temple in Baltimore. Enjoying a lifelong love of hunting and fishing, he was also a member of Rockwell Springs Trout Club in Castalia , Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia S. "Dordie" (Smith) Roberts, whom he married Dec. 28, 1963;one daughter: Miriam E.G. Roberts of St. Michaels, Maryland; one son: Christian J.S. Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia; his parents; one brother: J. Steven Roberts of Palm Harbor, Florida; 2 nieces, and 1 nephew.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 7, 2002 at 10:00 AM at The Church of the Ascension with Reverend Walter Mycoff officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorial donations may be made to American Kidney Fund or Holy Trinity Eposcopal Church in Oxford, Maryland.
