Charles L. Luksic, 82, of Monroe, died Sunday, January 8, 2006, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Smoke Run, Pennsylvania on August 25, 1923 to Andrew and Julia (Plasaj) Luksic.
Mr. Luksic owned and operated Charles L. Luksic Photography Studio and also worked for Middletown Welding and Fabricating. He earned his associates degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. Charles served his country as a staff sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 0149 in Franklin. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and was a Red Cross Volunteer. He bowled for over 50 years in the Middletown Bowling Association and also enjoyed golf and playing cards.
Charles is survived by his four children, Chuck A. (Barbara) Luksic, Denny (Sandy) Luksic, both of Middletown, Larry Luksic, and Barb Walker, both of Monroe; two sisters, Diane (Pete) Brately of S. Euclid and Lillian Zupich of Colver, PA; a brother, George Luksic of Cleveland; brothers-in-law, Cecil (Betty) Wooddell of Middletown, Jerl (Sondra) Wooddell of Levinworth, KA, and Dale (Jan) Wooddell of Paola, KA; grandchildren, Andy, Evan, & Emily Luksic, Alicia (Greg) McGuire, and W. Joshua Walker; great grandchildren, Brooke, Bryan, & Brittney McGuire; and many loving nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Irene Luksic in May 2003; his parents; great granddaughter, Brenna McGuire; brothers, Joseph, Evan, Frank, Evan, & Andrew Luksic, and sisters, Julia Luksic, Pauline Eberman, and Kate Legan.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the doctors and staff of Monroe Medical Center and Middletown Regional Hospital and also to Father Terry Meehan and Father John Civille for all of their kindness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Of Sorrows Catholic Church, 330 Lebanon St., Monroe, with Father Terry Meehan as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 6-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
