Charles L. Trees

Charles L. Trees, 77, of Monroe, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Atrium Medical Center. He was born on Saturday, January 10, 1942 in Middletown to Charles "Sonny" and Grace (Anderson) Trees.

Charles worked as a welder for Armco Steel Corp, retiring in 1990 after 25 years. He also served 20 years as a police officer for the Village of Monroe. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a former member of the Civil Defense. Charles was also a member of the Old Geezers and the 430 Group Radio Clubs.

Mr. Trees is survived by his loving wife, R. Ruth Trees; sons, R. Doug (Sandy) Trees and David C. Trees; daughter, Susan Y. Trees; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Mehl; five grandchildren, Austin, Jared, Kristen, Kaitlyn and Alexandra; three great grandchildren, Nickolas, Lorenzo and Sophia; as well as a host of numerous friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Service will be Friday, May 3, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd, Middletown, with Reverend Dr. Jason Hutchinson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at North Monroe Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
