Charles Lee DeBord, 87, of Middletown, died July 29, 2002, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Morgan County, Kentucky on March 18, 1915 to parents Allison and Mary Lou (Stacy) Debord.
He was a roller for the Armco Steel for twenty eight and one half years, retiring in 1977. Mr. DeBord enjoyed county music and played the guitar and sang.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eunice C. DeBord in 1997, his brothers, Fred, Edgar, Bill and Boyd DeBord, sisters, Addie Coffe, Grace Wright and Bessie Stacy.
He is survived by a daughter, Gretta (Henry) Gunckel of Miamsburg, OH; two sons: Rick Debord and Ralph (Kim) DeBord, both of Middletown; one sister: Beulah Evans of Malone, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, Jamie Henry, Mary Royer; Tom DeBord, Ralph DeBord and Sarah Robinson; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home on Thusday, August 1, 2002 with Reverend Lawrence Haney officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31, 2002 from 6-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd at Bonita Dr. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Middletown, 4414 Lewis Street, Middletown, OH 45044.
