Charles Leroy Hoit, 72, of Jacksonburg, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Wayne Township, Ohio on February 17, 1936, the oldest of eight children, to parents Harold and Hazel (Miller) Hoit.
Leroy graduated from Wayne School in 1954. He served in the United States Army from 1959-1961, spending most of that time in Germany. He worked for Miami Carey in Monroe and Monsanto in Miamisburg, until his retirement in June of 1995.
Mr. Hoit will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years, Carol A. (Schul) Hoit; sons, Rex (Karen) Hoit and Doug (Kim) Hoit; brother, Dale Hoit; sisters, Jeannette (Alfie) Schwegman, Ruby (Warren) Elam and Joyce (Don) Crim; grandchildren, Brandon, Daniel, Kelly, Carrie and Samantha; and numerous nieces, nephews & other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry and Jim Hoit; and sister, Patty Hoit.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 20, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Steve Weatherly officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 12:00 noon. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
