Chris Swanson, 17, peacefully went ot be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday morning, while at home surrounded by his loving family. He fought a valiant battle against Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy. Through his years, he touched many hearts and lives by his beautiful blue eyes, bright smile, and loving heart. Chris was a student at Madison High School, where he was among the top 20 in his class. He also attended Abilities First. He was a member of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He longed for nothing but to bring joy to the lives of his family and anyone who had the privilege of being close to him. He will be sadly missed, but greatly remembered.
Chris is survived by his parents Dr. Maurice G. and Mrs. Patricia A. (Bonner) Swanson, and his sisters Carrie M. Swanson and Catrina S. (Max) Fernandez. He is also survived by his grandparents DuWayne and Phyllis Swanson and James Quavis Bonner; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his grandmother Dorothy E. "Dot" Bonner.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the loving care given to Chris by Dr. Vuong, Dr. Gerber, the staff of Central 3, the respiratory therapists, and the endoscopy staff at Middletown Regional Hospital.
Pastors Mike Gray and Roger Green will officiate the funeral service.
