Christana R. Gamble

Christana R. Gamble, 75, of Middletown, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Hospice Of Butler And Warren Counties. She was born in Bullock County, Alabama on May 6, 1934 to parents Jimmie and Arlee (Nelson) Reynolds.Mrs. Gamble was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over 40 years. She loved the Bible. She worked for many prominent families in Middletown. Mrs. Gamble was a dedicated and loving woman, proud of her children and very close to her grandchildren. She was respected in the neighborhood and was the backbone of her family. She felt education came first and made sure the grandchildren got up and went to school.Mrs. Gamble is survived by her husband, Moses W. Gamble; three sons, David D. Gamble, Jerry W. Gamble, Jason D. Gamble; two daughters, Brenda L. (Jesse) Peebles and Beverly J. Gamble; two sisters, Annie Mae Jones and Sarah Mae Jones, special friends, Catherine Simpson, Jesse McCoy & Kim Smith; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mrs. Gamble was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Eula Mae Reynolds and brother, B.J. Reynolds and 11 half brothers & sisters. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Mr. Zion Baptist Church, 1000 Yankee Road, Middletown with Reverend Leon Wilkinson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. at the church. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
