Christine Rogers

Christine Rogers, 91, of Middletown, died Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Salisbury, North Carolina on January 5, 1917 to parents Walter and Lillian Cook.

Mrs. Rogers was a member of First Presbyterian Church, sang in the Middletown Civic Chorus, and was a member of the D.A.R. Colonel Jonathan Bayard Smith Chapter.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina (Joseph) Newlin; grandchildren, John (Susan) Newlin, Sarah Newlin, and David (Christy) Newlin; and great grandchildren, Jack Edward Newlin, Scott Riley Newlin, Blake Rogers Newlin, and Brady Quinn Newlin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ansel Clarence Rogers in 1986; and her parents.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 10, 2008 at 4:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Ave., Middletown with Reverend L. Timothy Doty officiating. Interment will take place in South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
