Clara D. Mcdaniel

Clara D. McDaniel, 88, of Middletown, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Dayton on October 21, 1923 to parents Warren and Ella Grace (Baker) Marsh.

Clara had worked as a clerk in the mailroom at Armco Steel Corporation. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her son, Kent (Opal) McDaniel; brother, Charles (Charlene) Marsh; 2 grandchildren, John Matthews & Leslie (Dave Rose) Carder; 7 great grandchildren, Kenton, Chastity, Tiffany, Courtney, Ashley, Jonathan & Michael; 5 step grandchildren, Glenn, Lisa (Jim), Penny (David), Melvin (Barb) & Amy (Fred); 13 step great grandchildren; and a special companion, DeDe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. McDaniel in 1971; daughter, Lynn Matthews; parents; 6 brothers & 1 sister.

The family extends special thanks to Clara's friends & caregivers at Garden Manor Retirement Village.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery in Xenia.
