Curtis Vandeventer, 88, of Monroe, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at his residence. He was born in London, Kentucky on August 13, 1922 to parents Woodson and Hannah (Durham) Vandeventer.
Curtis retired from Black Clawson after 26 years as a crane operator. He attended Solid Rock Church.
Mr. Vandeventer is survived by his wife, Sadie (Lovins) Vandeventer; four children, Anna (Offord) Burkhart, Lowell (Lu) Vandeventer, Sandra (Michael) Wonderly and Curtis Gene Vandeventer; brother, Vernon (Vivian) Vandeventer; sisters, Ventis (Kellis) Day, Lois (Robert) Webb, Loriene (Robert) Hopper and Geneva (Ivan) Farthing; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ernest Vandeventer; parents; brother, Wilburn Vandeventer; and sisters, Juanita Vandeventer, Gladys Marie Day and Jewell (Aubery) Campbell.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Matt McIntosh officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.
