Dale Scott Wilkey

Dale Scott Wilkey, affectionately known as Doc, passed from this life to eternity at age 62 on Friday, January 22, 2021. Dale was born to Edward Wilkey, Jr. and Esther (Smith) Wilkey on July 8, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dale is survived by his mother Esther, his wife Jill (Atkinson) Wilkey, his son Sean Patrick Wilkey, and his three grandchildren Sienna Crossley, Allie Wilkey, and Carson Wilkey.

Dale graduated from Lakota High School in 1976. In addition to studying theology at New Tribes Bible Institute, Dale enjoyed many careers including sign making, managing the kitchen at Lakota Freshman School, chaplaincy, and as a security officer. Dale was passionate about gardening, drumming, cooking, wood working, mentoring, his pets, and serving others. Dale was a wonderful friend to all who knew him and will be best remembered for his kind and gentle spirit. He loved to teach others and share his wisdom with any who would listen. He was a great listener and always had an encouraging word ready for those in need. His servant heart led him to support many ministries and charities with his time and talents. Dale’s love of music as a drummer and multi-instrumentalist led him to serve at Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those he served.

Per his wishes, a funeral for Dale will not be held. Dale’s last wishes are being honored by a small, private scattering service for his cremains at Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum in Middletown, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, please support the ministry of Hope in Action, to which Dale donated time and resources faithfully.
