David Norwood Habig, 70, of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at University Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born in Middletown on February 26, 1939, the son of Paul & Edith Habig.
He worked for First National Bank, then operated Habig's Landscaping. In 1978 he worked for ORKIN Pest Control and became the National Training Director. In 1999 he joined the staff of Woodside Cemetery until retirement. He was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Middletown and a former member of Holy Family Parish.
Mr. Habig is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Varon Habig; daughters, Pamela Habig Soden of Houston, Texas and Jody Habig Comer of Denver, Colorado; stepdaughter, Janel (Josh) Grigsby of Middletown; sons, John Domanick of Cleveland and Michael (Jennifer) Habig of Kokomo, Indiana; stepsons, George J. (Kristine) Jonson of Delray Beach, Florida and Soterios (Gina) Jonson of Hamilton; twelve grandchildren; two sisters, Lois (Paul) Nabergall of New Albany, Ohio and Molly Adams of Germantown; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish-St. John's Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Internment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Furnace Fund of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Grand Avenue, Middletown, OH 45044.
