Deborah “Debi” Johnson, 64, of Middletown, peacefully passed away after a strong, courageous, extended battle with cancer on Thursday, May 5, 2022. She was born July 21, 1957 to the late Beechie and Essie (Gibson) Johnson in Middletown. She graduated from Carlisle High School. She retired from AK Steel after 30 years of service.
Debi was a positive person, always happy, and had a great outlook on life. She will be remembered for her cheerful personality, wonderful sense of humor, radiant smile, and the kindness she showed every day. Although she dealt with ovarian cancer for an extended time, she was always positive and upbeat. Debi was a devoted wife, mom, and mamaw who loved nothing more than spending time with her family. Her other favorite things in life included many vacations, searching family history on ancestry, and her cat affectionately known to her as Kitty Girl.
She leaves behind a loving family including her wife, Jackie Miller; children, Kim (Ruth) Johnson, Kenny Rogers, Chris Miller; grandchildren, Izaiah, Samuel, Trinity, Breanna, McKenzie, Cody, Kyle, Genesis, and Grant; one great-grandson, Beckham; sister, Edna (Cliff) Smith; brother, Elmo (Ruth) Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Elmer and Estill Johnson; sister, Delilah Chasteen.
There will be a Celebration of Debi's Life at Lighthouse Baptist Church. 4033 State Route 123, Franklin on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 12:00 noon. The family will have a private inurnment will be at Woodside Cemetery & Arboretum in Middletown.
