Delbert Reffitt, 86, of Franklin Township, died Thursday, January 4, 2007, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Salt Lick, Kentucky on August 16, 1920 to parents Cyril and Lillie Mae (McCarty) Reffitt.
Mr. Reffitt worked in the scrap prep dept. for Armco Steel Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was named the VFW Post 3809’s most decorated veteran. He was the 2003 Grand Marshall of the Middletown 4th of July Parade and was an avid softball fan.
Mr. Reffitt is survived by his wife, Mary (Crouch) Reffitt; two daughters, Nancy L. Mynhier and Cheryl Reffitt, both of Middletown; two sons, Ray (Rebecca) Reffitt of Middletown and Brett (Amy) Reffitt of Franklin; daughter-in-law, Imogene Reffitt; good friends, Glen & Darren Fields; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, James “Pete” Reffitt; parents; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) with Reverend James Anderson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
